Acacia Gum
What is Acacia Gum?
Acacia Gum also known as Arabic Gum is extracted from Acacia trees (mainly from Acacia Senegal “Hashab Gum” and Acacia Seyal “Talha Gum”).
The ruby-colored sap is the vital essence of the Acacia Tree, offering numerous natural advantages. It serves as a strong, natural surfactant, blending ingredients in various foods and medicines while also slowing down absorption and digestion.
Where does gum come from?
The main gum-producing countries are Sudan, Nigeria, Chad and Senegal. Sudan is the world’s largest producer of Gum Arabic.

Gum Grades
Overview
Food-grade gum arabic obtained from Acacia senegal.
Known for its high emulsifying power, low viscosity, and superior clarity, this is the preferred grade for beverage and flavor manufacturers requiring reliable emulsion stability.
Functional Profile
High arabinogalactan-protein (AGP) content → strong oil-in-water emulsifier
Forms clear, low-viscosity solutions
Excellent acid and heat stability in RTD and syrup applications
Rapid hydration and good process flowability
Typical Applications
Flavor-oil and cloud emulsions
Spray-dried flavor encapsulation
Confectionery glazing and edible films
Typical Specifications
Moisture ≤ 10 % Ash ≤ 4 % pH (10 %) ≈ 4.5 – 5.5
Appearance: pale amber granules or spray-dried powder
Conforms to food-grade standard (E414); CoA / SDS per lot
Packaging & Supply
25 kg multi-wall paper bags
Bulk / custom pack sizes on request
Standard lead time 2–3 weeks ex-warehouse
Recommended For: beverage, flavor, and encapsulation manufacturers requiring consistent clarity and emulsifying strength.
Acacia Seyal (Talha)
Functional / Economical Gum Arabic
Overview
Natural gum arabic derived from Acacia seyal.
Selected for applications where viscosity, film-forming, and cost efficiency are key. Slightly higher mineral content provides functional body and binding capacity.
Functional Profile
Higher solution viscosity than Senegal grade
Reliable film-forming and adhesive properties
Suitable for coating, binding, and fiber fortification
Good stability under moderate acid and heat conditions
Typical Applications
Bakery and confectionery coatings
Tablet and capsule binders
Fiber-enriched foods and beverages
Cost-efficient base for blended gums
Typical Specifications
Moisture ≤ 10 % Ash ≤ 6 % pH (10 %) ≈ 4.2 – 5.2
Appearance: golden-brown granules
Conforms to food-grade standard (E414); CoA / SDS per lot
Packaging & Supply
25 kg multi-wall paper bags
Bulk / custom pack sizes on request
Standard lead time 2–3 weeks ex-warehouse
Recommended For: manufacturers seeking dependable viscosity and film-forming performance at competitive cost.
